Reading happens everywhere – not just in libraries or classrooms. Our NLCS Jeju Junior School community proved just that through our “Get Caught Reading” challenge. We’re excited to share a special video showcasing our students and staff embracing the joy of reading in the most creative and unexpected places.

The Story Behind Get Caught Reading

The initiative invited everyone to submit photos of themselves reading in unique locations, demonstrating that books can be enjoyed anywhere and everywhere. From quiet corners of our campus to surprising spots around Jeju and beyond, our community showed that reading truly has no boundaries.

Why It Matters

Research consistently shows that when students see their peers and role models engaging with books naturally and enthusiastically, they’re more likely to develop positive reading habits themselves. This visual celebration of reading helps create a culture where reading for pleasure is both normal and exciting.

The “Get Caught Reading” challenge connects directly to our library’s mission of fostering lifelong learning and creating an environment where reading is seen as both valuable and enjoyable. When we see others reading – especially in unexpected places – it reminds us that books can be part of any moment in our day.
